is a Franco-Belgian comic series about fictional Canadian military pilots and rocket pilots.The comic series was conceived in 1954 as Tintin magazine's answer to the Buck Danny series which was published in rival Spirou magazine. It was written and drawn by the Franco-Belgian Albert Weinberg (1922-2011); however, some of the stories were written by Jean-Michel Charlier instead. In keeping with the tradition of Franco-Belgian comics, after being serialized in a weekly comic book magazine, each complete storyline will appear as a published album.Dan Cooper is a test pilot in the Royal Canadian Air Force. Early storylines featured futuristic science fiction themes such as piloting a rocket to the Martian moon Deimos; but later stories have more roots in contemporary themes.
